Episode 8: Uphill and Downhill
Narrator: With the season now past the halfway point things have started to import for Ello Ello. After a slow start to the season the team has improved dramatically over the last few weeks. After 3 points finishes in the previous week, including a dramatic podium for Sylvester Pilarski, the team has continued in the rich vein of form with Arpad Faltus finishing 5th in Rila Lakes and Lincoln Hannity winning Climbs of Pinchor for the second time in his career.
Henri (manager): The results this week are probably the most pleasing for their own reasons, but also the most surprising and it required super days from both riders to achieve it. Arpad’s been a fantastic addition to the team since we picked him up cheaply a few seasons ago and whilst we were ranked too high for him to get his now customary podium in Indonesia another points finish is an unbelievable achievement for him, especially as this was his 5th attempt to score points here. Lincoln’s won in Pinchor before and I believe this is the first time we’ve won a single stage race twice.
Narrator: Sadly though, as the season brings great success there’s a major development in one of the team’s hottest talents.
Abigail Amor (youth coach): Ye so sadly we were out on a training ride today and Jarvis Rodie, a very young and highly thought of rider, suddenly pulled up holding his calf and it looks like it’s not good news.
Narrator: whilst the calf strain isn’t going to end his career, the danger is that this set back will prevent Jarvis from developing any further and won’t improve.
Henri (manager): Obviously it’s a huge shame when a rider such as Jarvis doesn’t get to complete their training but he’s still a talented climber and will be able to provide a good part in helping other riders in the team achieve their goals. One of this season’s goals was to develop youth riders and we’ve got a few other riders (Brock and Zhai (who will join shortly)) who we hope can develop into elite level riders.
Placido Maciel (coach): The next week is kind of a mixed one. We’re going to get Brock some more training hopefully under his belt. Sadiq will be getting a chance and of course final preparations will be underway for the Vuelta a Valparaiso.

One of those nasty calf strains that comes after 60 training sessions that doesn’t go however hard you rub it!
I hope Brock can continue with his better luck.
